Are you interested in volunteering your time at Paloma? Are you interested in making a significant difference in our school? If so, we'd love to have you volunteer at our school. Every volunteer that comes to Paloma is important, helpful, and greatly appreciated. We know that we could not have the amazing school that we do, without you. But, before you can come and volunteer for any length of time, we want you to be prepared.
Here's what you need to do BEFORE you can volunteer:
1. Obtain a Volunteer Packet from the office
This packet will have all the forms and information you need to volunteer. We have lots of copies in the office and would love to walk you through the process. The sooner you obtain the packet and get it turned in, the sooner you can volunteer!
2. Read, agree to & sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct
It is really important that all of our volunteers support our school and the expectations we have for students. The Code of Conduct is our set of requirements for volunteers wishing to work at Paloma. If you have any questions about the Code of Conduct, please reach out to site administration.
3. Complete the Megan's Law Background Check Form
You must complete and turn in the Megan's Law Background Check form. This form provides us with the information needed to complete a brief background check to ensure that there are no outstanding concerns against you which would impede your ability to work in a school.
4. Obtain verification of a negative TB test
We must secure a healthy environment for all students and staff. Therefore, all volunteers must present a negative TB verification prior to ANY volunteer time at school. There is no grade period. You can obtain this verification from your primary doctor or other source at your discretion. If you are in need of a local resource list, we can provide you with one in the school office. Once you have the negative TB test / verification, we will need a copy to keep in the school office.
5. Come to the school office.
Turn in your signed Megan's Law Background Check, your signed Volunteer Code of Conduct, and your negative TB test / verification. We will process your paperwork and add you to our list of Approved Volunteers.
You are now ready to volunteer! Thank you so much for following these steps. We cannot wait to have you on our campus, supporting our staff and students!
If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact the office.
