It is with pleasure that I introduce myself to you, my name is Mrs. Crystal Neal and I am the Literacy Specialist at Lavorgna Elementary. I received a Liberal Studies degree with a minor in Psychology, and my Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy. This is my 13th year teaching and I am excited to utilize my skills in teaching your child Reading skills. 

As a Literacy Specialist, I will be teaching students in a small group for 30 minutes to provide then with extra support. Small group instruction greatly benefits children as they learn and master the common core standards, because it allows for individualized teaching.

The reading program I will be implementing will be a positive and supportive program designed to give students an extra boost in their academic skills and self-esteem. My overall goal as a Literacy Specialist is to meet my students’ needs, but also keep them motivated and engaged in the learning process. I strive to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes achievement to the highest potential.
