Advanced Television News Broadcasting, (Silverhawk Central) is a one-year explore course offered to selected students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The goal of the class is to provide learners with first hand experience in the production of a daily, live-stream, internet news broadcast. Students learn advanced skills in journalism, such as news writing and interviewing. The class also explores technology such as videotaping, editing, lighting and computer applications. In this hands-on classroom experience, skills will be practiced and improved upon daily. Participation, including required work before or after school, group and individual projects will be evaluated and make up a significant percentage of the grade.
