Community Service Hours - Required for Graduation

  • Students are required to accumulate 40 hours of community service for graduation. Students get credit for volunteer service hours worked only with a non-profit organization.  Please confirm the non-profit status before volunteering your time.  The Community Service Log also lists potential service opportunities (see page 2). Students should check this page often, as specific short term opportunities will be posted as they become available.

Signed forms should be submitted to the Counseling Department as hours are completed.

2020/21 NOTE:  Distance Learning GOHS Protocol -

Presently, due to the inability of students to bring signed community service forms to our site, we are accepting the individual forms by email.  Here is the process:

The student will complete the bottom portion of the form as follows, then email it directly to mmcgreevy@tvusd.us. The student will receive an email reply once the hours are added to Infinite Campus:
    • "Total Hours" - _(# of hours on that form)__
    • "Computer Log Entry Date" - _(The date that you email the form to mmcgreevy@tvusd.us)
    • "By" - Mrs. McGreevy

(Class of 2021 ONLY - Due to state mandates, TVUSD community service graduation requirements for students in the graduating Class of 2021 will be waived.  Remember - colleges might ask about community service, and some scholarships are awarded on community service so it is good to turn in all hours completed.)
