    Dear Panthers,

I wanted to send you a letter today to share some important news. With a heavy heart, I would like to share that this year will be my last as the Principal of Paloma Elementary. Starting in the 19/20 school year, I will be serving as the Principal of Barnett Elementary.

Since 2013, I have had the distinct pleasure of supporting Paloma. I have been honored to work with a staff that cares more about students than any staff I have ever worked with. I have been moved by their dedication and encouraged by their commitment to always go above and beyond for students. The staff at Paloma are unmatched in their work ethic and care for others. I have treasured the students who bring joy, laughter, and excitement to school every day. I have been in awe of the hard work of our PTA and the advocacy of our parents. We have stood together in support of students for the past six years. I have learned so much and feel I am taking with me far more than I have been able to give. I want to thank each and every one of you for the kindness and challenges you have bestowed upon me. I am a better educator having served at Paloma with all of you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this family for as long as I have. I will forever be grateful for my time as a Panther.

With change, there are always things that will feel different. That is inevitable. But, I am confident that Paloma will supercede all of that. The Paloma Panthers are a family. Students, staff, parents, and community working together to support each other every single day.

Please join me in welcoming the new Principal of Paloma Elementary for next school year, Ms. Kim Mazelin. Ms. Mazelin has been serving as the Principal at French Valley Elementary for the past four years. She is bright, capable, and delighted to join the Panther team. Ms. Mazelin has worked in TVUSD since 1990 and spent 25 years as a classroom teacher before becoming an administrator. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Panthers. She will make a strong addition to the Paloma family.

Thank you again for your time, care, and support of me in my position at Paloma. I look forward to the last few weeks of school together, celebrating another year of amazing accomplishments by our students and staff. Paloma Rocks!

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Gradstein

    Polite Reminder

This past month, we have had several complaints from local residents. These residents have reported that our students are not respecting their property lines and that Paloma parents are not following traffic laws. Please remember to always follow the law, park only in parking spots, not to block others, and to respect our neighbors & their property. Together, we make Paloma a wonderful community to live and go to school in. Let’s work together to meet the needs of everyone. Thank you!
