Welcome!

This is my 5th year teaching at TVHS and I'm looking forward to working with my students this year. I hold a bachelor's degree in physics from UCSD and I also attended graduate school for astronomy for a brief stint after undergrad, but left when my first child was born to focus on family for a while. A long time ago I also worked as a chemist first doing organic chemistry, and then moved into analytical chemistry. I've taught physics labs at UCSD, astronomy at Boston University, and general science to 2nd - 5th graders, however my favorite age group to work with by far is high school students. 

In addition to my love of science and teaching, I have been happily married for 22 years and have 5 awesome kids. My oldest graduated from TVHS in 2019, my second oldest graduated from TVHS in 2023. I also have an 9th grader, a 5th grader, and a 3nd grader, all in TVUSD schools. 

One of the only things I love more than science is teaching. I look forward to getting to know all of my students and hope you have an amazing year!
