Sarah Barnes
My name is Sarah Barnes and I am loving working as a Speech-Language Pathologist here at La Vorgna Elementary school. I earned my master's degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University, following my bachelors degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education from Utah State University. During my master's program I worked as a student practitioner in a variety of settings including schools, pediatric private practice, and at an outpatient rehabilitation clinic treating a wide range of disorders in both children and adults.
I've come to be an SLP as a second career in life. Previously I spent 16 years in the video game industry working as an animation and special effects artist. I continue to enjoy artwork in my freetime, but am passionate about working in a field that directly impacts a child's ability to communicate with those around them.
In my free time I enjoy crafting, listening to live music, advocating for animals and people, and going on adventures with my fabulous daughter.
