Mrs. Darlene Dormanen
My name is Darlene Dormanen and I teach 1st grade at LaVorgna Elementary. This is my 21st year of teaching, my 16th year in the Temecula Valley Unified School District, and my 12th year teaching 1st grade. Although I've taught 5th, 4th, 3rd and 1st grades, 1st grade is my absolute favorite! Previously, I've taught in Orange County as well as at Alamos Elementary and Temecula Elementary Schools here in TVUSD. I received my teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach, and have a Master of Communication degree from Regent University in Virginia.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family traveling and exploring the U.S. and the world. I've been married for 21 years to my husband, Bruce, and have 4 beautiful children. Rachel is a senior, Matt is a junior and Kylie is a freshman at Great Oak. Ryan is an 8th grader at Vail Ranch MS.
My goal this year is to help your child reach his/her potential academically and socially in a safe and positive classroom environment. I encourage my students to make good choices, treat others with kindness and respect and always do their best. I also believe that open communication between teacher and parent is very important and so I will keep you informed on a regular basis about your child's behavior and progress. I ask that you contact me immediately if you have any questions or concerns as well. I am looking forward to a great year with your child!
