Spanish Art History Social Science

Mr. Javier Vargas

¡HOLA!

My name is Javier Vargas, and I grew up here in Temecula. I am truly passionate about teaching Spanish and what its culture means around the world.

I majored in History at the University of California in 2011. I acquired a Minor in Art History and Spanish and became a teacher in 2012. I am a native Spanish speaker and had the privilege to live and study both Spanish and history in Salamanca, Spain where I truly fell in love with the language. The University of Salamanca is the oldest university in Spain and the third oldest in Europe. It is renowned for its purest form of Castilian Spanish, having had students like Miguel De Cervantes, Hernán Cortés, and Fray Luis de León as alumni and through where the Spanish language was “born” and made official. With my love for history, art history, and language, I am constantly seeking to draw a real-life connection between the three with hopes of inspiring travel and application of the target language.

I look forward to working with each and every student. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
